Project Details

This auditorium is one of the foremost high tech state of the art facilities of its kind in the country. The media center within the hall is capable of simultaneously transmitting proceedings in up to 60 languages world wide.

Two and a half years in construction, the $240 million, 1.4 million square foot LDS Assembly Hall occupies 10 acres in downtown SaltLake City, Utah. Utilizing granite from the same quarries as the Salt Lake Temple, the new building includes a roof top park and 4 story waterfall. While the building exterior is incredible the interior of the building is also an architectural masterpiece. With seating capacity for 21,000 people, the new Hall is one of the largest indoor auditoriums in the world.

Numerous high tech features including state of the art Lighting, Sound and Broadcast Systemswere utilized. A Media Center within the auditorium is capable of simultaneously transmitting proceedings in up to 60 different languages. A combination of Bare and Static Control High Pressure Laminate Panels witha Rigid Stringer Understructure provides excellent stability and wear resistance throughout the numerous Control Rooms, includingthe 7,000 square foot Dimmer Rooms located in the ceiling of the large auditorium. Finished Floor Heights ranging from 12”to 40”allow adequate room for the many miles of electrical, computer, and broadcast wiring. All cabling and wiring is readily accessible merely by lifting up a Floor Panel.Completed in April of 2000, the new Assembly Hall is an impressive work of architecture in size, structure, and facility. This incredible building is Salt Lake City’s newest landmark.
